Papan Island is a small island surrounded by wooden houses on the water. The island has a 1 km long wooden bridge with clear sea water underneath. Papan Island is one of the islands included in the Togean Islands National Park area.
Togean Islands National Park is a national park in the Togean Islands located in Tomini Bay, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Administratively this region is in Tojo Una-Una District. The islands are known for being rich in coral reefs and various rare and protected marine biota.

The tropical beauty of Papan Island as an awesome holiday destination is something that must be visited by someone who expects a vacation experience in a tropical climate.
The most iconic thing on this island is the existence of a 1 km long wooden bridge that connects Papan Island with Malenge Island. Under the bridge the sea water is so clear that it seems as if it shows all the beauty in it to anyone who is on the bridge.
The beauty of the sea under the bridge will make anyone feel amazed so they can't wait to immediately swim and dive into the sea. In addition, this wooden bridge is also the perfect spot for photography enthusiasts.

This small island is also surrounded by wooden houses inhabited by locals. Wooden houses were built on the sea. Most of the local inhabitants of this small island are people from the Bajo tribe.
The Bajo are a tribe that likes to live in the sea. In ancient times, this tribe was a nomadic tribe that lived nomadically. At present, they have lived permanently, some of them settled on Papan Island. Even though they lived permanently, their lives remained closely connected with the sea.

The Bajo are known for their excellent fishing capabilities. Profession as a fisherman, Bajo people are very skilled in carrying out their profession. The ability to swim and dive while holding breath in water for a long duration is their extraordinary skill.
Rock Peak
In the center of Pulau Papan there is a rock peak. This place can be reached by trekking for 15 minutes. From this spot, tourists can see the entire contents of the island, wooden houses, elongated wooden bridges, population activities, and breathtaking sea views.
In this spot, children from the Bajo tribe also often invite tourists to play with them. They also gladly sang a song about their island and invite visitors to get around too.

How to Go to Papan Island
The distance from Papan Island from Palu City, the capital of Central Sulawesi Province is around 400 km. To visit Papan Island there are several accesses that can be reached by tourists. The first access from Gorontalo then continued by ferry to Wakai.
It can also be accessed from Palu City and then continued by plane to Ampana then continued by speedboat to Wakai. After arriving in Wakai Village, the journey continues by renting a fishing boat or speedboat service directly to Malenge Island and then to Papan Island, which is only about 30 minutes away.
