Kaco Lake is a mini-sized lake that has a very clear water and clean. If seen from a distance, then the water in this lake looks bluish. The water is very clear supported by the conditions of green trees are very shady, really presents a very mesmerizing natural atmosphere.
Kaco Lake is a lake located in Kerinci district, Jambi province, Indonesia. It is located in Lempur village, Gunung Raya district. This lake is located in the area of Kerinci Seblat National Park which is a UNESCO heritage site. The lake has an area of about 90 square meters and has an unknown depth.

Kaco means glass. Why is this lake called Kaco Lake or glass lake? Kaco Lake was able to emit a bright light at night. The glow of the light became brighter on the full moon night. If visitors come to Kaco Lake on the night of full moon, then visitors do not need lighting aids because lake water can emit light quite bright. When viewed from a distance, the light emitted by Kaco Lake will look like a light directed to the sky. Most visitors are many overnight to see this miracle.

For some adventurers and explorers, the name of Kaco Lake is known as one of the interesting destinations. This lake is known as "the sprinkling of the water of heaven".
Kaco Lake or referred to as a glass lake is one of five lakes in the Lempur village. As the name implies, the water is so clear and translucent as glass. Small fish hordes are clearly seen milling around the lake water that looks bluish.
Myth Stories
Although looking exotic and beautiful, Kaco Lake turned out to save the sad story. From hereditary stories, Kaco Lake stems from a heartbreaking love story.
Once upon a time, there was a princess from King of Crow who was famous for her stunning beauty. Because of the beauty and elegance of the princess, so many young people from all over Kerinci want to marry the princess of the King Crow.
However, King Crow demanded a variety of treasures to every young man who wanted to apply for his daughter. Starting from precious stones, gold, diamonds, and gems collected by the king.
Because of his greed, the princess became tarnished and finally drowned into the lake along with all the treasures that had been collected by King Crow.
Based on this mythical story, local residents believe that the emission of treasure property that causes Kaco Lake always shining brightly.
Prohibition
Inside this lake there are species of semah fish that can not be found in four other lakes in the Lempur village. By the people of Jambi, especially Kerinci, fish semah known as a fish that tastes good and expensive. Even semah fish scales can be eaten.
However, do not ever hope to be able to enjoy or take fish semah in Kaco Lake. If caught, the perpetrators will be given adat sanction by the local community.

How to Go to Kaco Lake
To be able to enjoy the beauty of this lake, visitors need time and distance of travel long enough. If visitors depart from the Jambi city, then visitors must first go to the area of Sungai Penuh. From Jambi City to Sungai Penuh area, visitors need travel time about 10 hours by utilizing motor vehicle.
Arriving at Sungai Penuh area, visitors must continue their journey to Lempur village in Gunung Raya district. Visitors need about 45 minutes to take this location by motor vehicle.
Arriving at the Lempur village, visitors are advised to rest. This is because, to get to the location of Kaco Lake, visitors must walk for more than 4 hours. To rest, visitors can rent a homestay provided by the surrounding community, or build a tent around this location.

To take the location of Kaco Lake, visitors are advised to use the services of a guide who has really know the location of this attraction. This needs to be done so that visitors can avoid things that are not desirable, for example lost in the forest.
Facilities and Accommodation
For visitors who come from outside Jambi area, then visitors should use the services of lodging at Sungai Penuh area. This is because in the vicinity of Kaco Lake there are no facilities or accommodation lodging at all.
