Moramo Waterfall is a waterfall that is terraced (cascade) and very beautiful. The altitude is about 100 meters. From that height, the water flows through 7 main levels. There are also 60 smaller levels that serve as a pool of water. Of the many pools of water, only one can be used for swimming, the pool is located on the second level of the 7 main levels of the waterfall.

Moramo Waterfall is located in the Tanjung Peropa Nature Reserve area, Sumber Sari Village, Moramo Sub-district, South Konawe District, Southeast Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. The distance is about 60 km from Kendari City.

The tropical beauty of Moramo Waterfall as an awesome holiday destination is something that must be visited by someone who expects a vacation experience in a tropical climate.

Moramo Waterfall is located in the Tanjung Peropa Nature Reserve area. This nature reserve has an area of about 38,937 hectares. This area has a beautiful natural scenery with many flora and fauna, among which is endemic Sulawesi species, for example anoa, black monkey, various birds, colorful butterflies, and various other animals.

In addition, this area also has a marble content that is estimated to reach 860 billion cubic meters. Marble content stored in this region is the largest in the world.

The water of Moramo Waterfall comes from the Biskori River which originated in the Tambolosu Mountains. This water flow is used by the community to irrigate their fields.

The height of the waterfall reaches 100 m whose shape is terraced. Its waterfall flows through granite boulders of between 0.5-3 m tiered and formed over thousands of years.

To pass through every level of this waterfall, visitors can climb to the cliffs of green marble on each side. Visitors do not have to worry about slipping because no moss can grow on the marble cliffs. This is because the location of Moramo Waterfall is a limestone area, so the water contains sulfur and alkaline which causes the moss is difficult to grow.

When illuminated by sunlight, the rocks in this waterfall radiate a colorful rainbow sparkle. This is an amazing sight.

The water in this waterfall is clear and fresh with about one meter deep. Local residents also believe that there is an angel from the sky that descended to bathe here.

How to Go to Moramo Waterfall

From Kendari City, visitors can use motor vehicles to Tanjung Peropa Nature Reserve area located in South Konawe District.

From the entrance of Tanjung Peropa Nature Reserve Area, visitors walk to Moramo Waterfall for two kilometers. Visitors should be careful when walking to the location of this waterfall because of the road conditions are slippery and uphill.
